Snow!!!

Philly finally had some snow last week! It should have been enough to get us out of school for the day, but the Philly School District wouldn't be the Philly School District if they ever did what they SHOULD do... (long story). SO when the roads were at their worst, 6:45 in the morning when I leave for school, school was still open as usual. Around 10:00 "they" decided to close all public schools early. But wouldn't you know it the roads were basically all clear at that point! So I got home early rather than getting to sleep in late. Whatever... I've wanted to take pictures of St. Peter's for a while and I happened to have my camera with me when it snowing last week. I like how St. Peter's looks like it could be somewhere else, rather than Philly. Maybe it's just my heart longing to be in Europe but with the snow as a back drop the church almost looks like it could be stuck somewhere in Germany or Switzerland. St. Peter's is right down from my school on 3rd and Girard. I walk past it every day on my way from the trolley to school. It was also featured on an episode of Cold Case a couple of seasons ago. The bottom picture I took while walking to school and the top one is the view of St. Peter's from my 1st period 20th Century World History class. If you look one way you see St. Peter's and if you look the other way you have a great view of the skyline. Unfortunately because of the snow there were really heavy clouds so you couldn't see it... Ah well another day.

Out and About

Recently one of my favorite activities on the weekend has been going out to eat. Food in general makes me relaxed and happy but good food, in a relaxed atmosphere with my friends just makes things so much better. This weekend unintentionally has been an ethnic weekend. Last night I had Mexican food, today I had Portuguese food, and tomorrow I'm having Indian. It's been a good weekend so far :-) This is from a couple of weekends ago when I went out to a chocolate cafe with a group of girlfriends. It's the most amazing chocolate I've had on this side of the Atlantic NO JOKE! It was quite amazing. This was someone's chocolate peanut butter cupcake. It makes me hungry just looking at it.... BTW I'm going there for dessert tomorrow night after Indian food... can't wait!!!

Quiet

This is from the British Museum. I took it this summer while there. I love the lighting in the picture. I feel like I'm standing back in the room full of Greek Architecture. I'm tired, it's been a long week already, I have tons of deadlines hanging over me and it feels like nothing is being resolved. I want to just crawl up in my bed put on my ipod and shut everything out. However, as soon as the ipod runs out of battery then I'll be reminded that nothing's perfect. This past week has been draining and I'll just leave it at that... Anna, Christy, Nishma, M.E., and many more, I miss you!
