Snow!!!
Philly finally had some snow last week! It should have been enough to get us out of school for the day, but the Philly School District wouldn't be the Philly School District if they ever did what they SHOULD do... (long story). SO when the roads were at their worst, 6:45 in the morning when I leave for school, school was still open as usual. Around 10:00 "they" decided to close all public schools early. But wouldn't you know it the roads were basically all clear at that point! So I got home early rather than getting to sleep in late. Whatever... I've wanted to take pictures of St. Peter's for a while and I happened to have my camera with me when it snowing last week. I like how St. Peter's looks like it could be somewhere else, rather than Philly. Maybe it's just my heart longing to be in Europe but with the snow as a back drop the church almost looks like it could be stuck somewhere in Germany or Switzerland. St. Peter's is right down from my school on 3rd and Girard. I walk past it every day on my way from the trolley to school. It was also featured on an episode of Cold Case a couple of seasons ago. The bottom picture I took while walking to school and the top one is the view of St. Peter's from my 1st period 20th Century World History class. If you look one way you see St. Peter's and if you look the other way you have a great view of the skyline. Unfortunately because of the snow there were really heavy clouds so you couldn't see it... Ah well another day.
